From October 23rd to 24th, Mr. Zhang Ye, Vice President for MCC Group, paid a visit to Ramu Nickel and Cobalt Project in Papua New Guinea, accompanied by Ms. Xing Yan, Director of International Business Management Department of China Minmetals Group, and Wang Xiaolei, Deputy General Manager of China Minmetals Nonferrous Metals limited.
On the symposium held on October 23rd, Zhang Ye heard the report on the running status, operation management, production organization, risk control, and management team building of Ramu Nico by President Gao Yongxue before he gave positive comments on the impressing performance achieved by the Ramu Nickel and Cobalt Project in recent years, and acknowledged the management team and all staff for their dedication.
On October 24th, Zhang Ye and the delegation paid a visit to Basamuk Refinery accompanied by Vice President Wang Baowen. Zhang Ye visited HPAL section, neutralization section, power plant, product bagging area and so on, he then asked the details of the operation, and attached great attention to issues regarding community relations and implementation of corporate social responsibilities.
Mr. Zhang Ye highly commended the achievements that the Ramu NiCo has achieved in such aspects as production ramp-up, cost cutting, and operation optimization, and pointed out that the Ramu Nickel and Cobalt Project should take full advantage of self-strengths, improve operational compliance management, seize the opportunity of “The Belt and Road” Initiative to establish an international benchmark for the nickel laterite mining industry.
