As the new year approaches 2020, in celebration of the New Year, Ramu NiCo facilitated colorful activities on its operation sites in Madang, Kurumbukari Mine and Basamuk Refinery, which attracted hundreds of Chinese and PNG national participants from various departments.
At KBK Mine, a marvelous evening gala was held to celebrate the New Year of 2020. Hundreds of Chinese and PNG national employees gathered together for the gala. Led by Arnold, employees from Mobile Workshop presented a touching song they composed by themselves to praise the spirit of fearlessness and dedication of Ramu NiCo employees as well as to acknowledge the Company for its contribution to local development. The large audience were also impressed by a festival song in Pidgin, English and Chinese languages.
During the festive season, employees at Madang Base went through sports activities of great fun. The activities including basketball shooting, long-distance running, and exchange of gifts, which were widely participated by all employees. The outdoor sports activities not only make the employees relaxed from their work at hand, but also enhance teamwork and friendship between the Chinese and national employees.
NCS at BSK Refinery prepared a sumptuous feast for the festival. NCS has also decorated the mess with Christmas trees and decorations in advance. In addition to regular dishes, NCS also specially added other great delicacies and desserts. Both employees including contractor employees have enjoyed a wonderful feast on this very special day as a reward for their hard work.
Ramu NiCo has been taking root in Papua New Guinea for more than 10 years and actively working as a practitioner of its slogan of “One Ramu NiCo, One Community”, so that all employees from different cultural backgrounds enjoy the harmonious and amicable working relationship.
