“Your work performance will promote you and not yourself,” said Gimu Jegas,the Ramu NiCo Mining Division Team One Articulated (ATD) supervisor,  who hails from Madang shared his work experience with Ramu NiCo Management (MCC) Limited (RNML).

He said RNML is a good company where once you are in the field you will learn and do different jobs and not glued to a particular job.

RNML, a subsidiary of China Minmetals and MCC, is doing its best based on its vision and mission to manage its Ramu NiCo Project.  RNML’s vision is to grow into a major international and world-class company in the development, operation and management of nonferrous mining projects. And its mission is to build the Ramu NiCo Project into one of the world’s most successful laterite nickel mining and processing facility.

In complying with its vision and mission, RNML approaches new and better strategies to manage Ramu NiCo Project. Accordingly, all employees in each and every department in Ramu NiCo Project are doing their best for safe, sustainable, environmental friendly, socioeconomic development and win-win situation for both the shareholders and stakeholders.

In accordance, one part of Ramu NiCo Mine development comprehensive training policies and systems for Ramu NiCo’s employees are in place to focus on the need of company operation and talented development. It aims to help employees to quick adjust to the post, boost the competency, improve their knowledge and skills and support company’s international competency.

Mr. Gimu started his career as a Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO), Volvo ATD truck driver with his mechanical trade and served Ramu NiCo for twelve years at the KBK mine site.

While being with Ramu NiCO he also operated other machines like excavators, bulldozers, graders, etc. as well.

After five years with Ramu NiCo, Mr. Gimu was promoted to Team One supervisor for ATD through his work ethic and experience.

He currently oversees 45 employees and the operation of his team.

In 2022, he got selected and went for training conducted by MCC. He received an Australian New Zealand standard Certificate in levels 1, 8, and 9.

Mr. Gimu served the Ramu NiCo Project in the Mining Division supervising ATD Team One as a supervisor for eight years.

“Now I have multi-skills where I can operate any machines from small to big,” said Gimu.

He encourages the young employees in the Ramu NiCo Project to think and work smart like him and other smart people to be somebody worthy in the future.

“As the vocational student to where I am today I would like to thank God and MCC for making this possible for me,” said Gimu.

Accordingly, RNML is doing well with its Ramu NiCo Project and continues to give its best in serving all its employees for better employment growth and development. And to make sure all its departments are operational and functioning well for the safe, eco-friendly, socioeconomic growth, sustainable mine development etc., which conglomerate with RNML co-values, vision and mission for the betterment of global community.
