Ramu NiCo in Madang has once more delivered medical drugs to a rural health center this week that serves more than 20, 000 people.
The mining company through its Community Affairs department presented the medical drugs supplies to Ileg health center located in Astrolabe Bay LLG, Raicoast district in Madang on Monday.
The medical drugs supplies was the second quarter supply to Ileg health center as part of Ramu NiCo’s annual assistance to certain health centers along the foot prints of the mine.
The medicines were received by the health center’s nursing officer and midwife Gabriel Puap.
Mr Puap thanked Ramu NiCo for the consistent supplies of medical drugs to Ileg health center and said the medicines would serve a wider community including schools and the local population.
“Ileg health center has a catchment of 20, 326 population and I thank Ramu NiCo for always come in to rescue us with its consistent supplies,” Mr Puap said.
He said Ileg health center is situated in a location in Raicoast district that is confronted with geographical challenges including social and developments challenges.
Mr Puap thanked Ramu NiCo for always on alert to supply the required medical drugs on time to meet the challenges that are faced daily in the health care space.
Ramu NiCo’s Community and Government Liaisons Officer David Kurame said Ramu NiCo has annual budget for Ileg, Usino, Ganglau and Enekwai health Centres to supply medical drugs to them on quarterly basis.
Meanwhile Mr Puap who also serves Ileg health center as a midwife thanked Ramu NiCo on behalf of the mothers in Ileg health center catchment areas for being on time with adequate medical supplies to care for mothers and babies before and after birth. (Dorothy Mark)
