On May 28th, 2024, Community Affairs Department of Ramu NiCo Basamuk Refinery received an urgent first-aid request from a villager in Mindre Village. A pregnant woman had suddenly developed abdominal pain and was possibly going into labor. Ramu NiCo provided transportation assistance and help instantly and successfully helped the pregnant woman who finally gave birth to a healthy baby boy.

Upon receiving the request at 6:30 PM, Richard Lee, the Chinese supervisor, took immediate action. He quickly coordinated vehicles and personnel to transport the pregnant woman to Ganglau Clinic. By the time they arrived at the clinic, night had already fallen, and the clinic had no light, leaving the interior pitch dark. Fortunately, Richard had brought a high-powered flashlight with him, which provided crucial lighting support for the medical staff to conduct their examination and delivery.

With the full cooperation of the medical staff, the pregnant woman successfully gave birth to a healthy baby boy, and both the mother and the child were in good health. The woman’s family and the clinic doctors expressed their gratitude and appreciation for Ramu NiCo’s timely assistance.

The Community Affairs Department of Ramu NiCo has always been providing various emergency medical and transportation assistance for residents of surrounding communities. This emergency assistance once again highlighted Ramu NiCo’s deep concern and active support for the local community. Ramu NiCo will continue to uphold the philosophy of “One Ramu NiCo, One Community,” providing more help and support to local communities.
