The Coastal Pipeline Women’s and Men’s Associations have proudly delivered a milestone project in partnership with the Developer, Ramu NiCo Management (MCC) Limited.
November 19, 2025 marked a significant achievement for the Associations with the official opening of the Community Learning Centre at Lalok Village, Ward 7 of Astrolabe Bay LLG, Raicoast District. That project was the first of its kind within the project footprint areas and represents a major step forward in community development.
The Learning Centre is a prefabricated building purchased from Rhodes PNG in Lae and shipped to Madang. Local contractor Ozone Home Builders successfully completed the construction within three months, showcasing local capability and commitment.
The Coastal Pipeline Women’s Association continues to set the benchmark for excellence, having been recognized as the Best Performing Women’s Group in the Mining Sector in the country at the 2023 Mining Conference in Lae.
That achievement emphasized the Association’s dedication to empowering communities and driving sustainable development.
Community Affairs General Manager, Eric Kuman, applauded the Coastal Pipeline Women’s group for being the best performing women’s group and urged the three other women’s groups to utilize funds properly rather than resorting to paying debts, which he noted is a major setback and hindrance to progress.
Coastal Pipeline Men’s LOA Chairman, Steven Saud, also urged all landowner groups to utilize royalty funds wisely to ensure maximum benefits for their communities.
Mr Saud extended heartfelt thanks to the Developer for its ongoing support and partnership in projects with significant impact.
The programme was witnessed by the Madang Provincial Council of Women President Theresia Kamau and Stanley Soma (the Project Officer to the Governor’s Office), further reaffirms the importance of partnerships between stakeholders in progressing community development.
This initiative reflects the shared vision of the Associations and Ramu NiCo to create lasting opportunities and improve life quality of people in the project footprint areas.
