On September 16,2026, Ramu NiCo actively sponsored sports events hosted at communities around KBK Mine and the BSK Refinery – to jointly celebrate the 51st PNG Independencce anniversary.
This festive sports event attracted approximately 5,000 local people to participate enthusiastically. On the field, local young athletes ran with determination and engaged in fierce competition, pouring out their sweat to showcase their hardworking, ambitious, and vibrant spirit; alongside the field, people of all ages gathered to cheer them on, with waves of applause and cheers rising continuously. The Papua New Guinea national flag fluttered in the wind, and the entire venue was filled with a warm and vibrant atmosphere celebrating Independence Day.
The Ramu NiCo places high importance on improving community livelihoods and fostering youth development. The Company’s CA Department coordinated the logistical support for this event, meticulously preparing competition prizes—including trophies, sports equipment, and daily necessities—to deliver the company’s care directly to the local community. By leveraging sports events as a platform, Ramu NiCo provides a stage for local youth to showcase their talents, encourages them to embrace positive life.
