The newly elected Member for Usino Bundi, Vincent Kumura, has assured Ramu NiCo of his commitment to a close working relationship, identifying the company as a vital development partner for his district.
Mr. Kumura made the assurance during a courtesy visit to the Ramu NiCo head office on Monday, September 8, 2025.
As the director and founder of the Kumura Foundation, which supported health and education services in the remote Bundi, Mr. Kumura stated he has seen and experienced the hardships his people have gone through. He said his focus is on delivering much-needed services to his people.
In discussions with Ramu NiCo Management, Mr. Kumura expressed his desire to work closely with Ramu NiCo, as the largest investment in Bundi, to create a mutual partnership aimed at delivering essential services for the people of Usino, Bundi, and Gama.
The new MP also committed to assisting the company in areas he may be needed to see the smooth operation of the company, so that both the company and the people of Usino Bundi benefit equally.
Ramu NiCo Chairman Wang Zhou congratulated Mr. Kumura on his electoral victory. He explained the company’s operations in an exhibition room featured with huge screens showing live images from the Kurumbukari mine to the Basamuk refinery.
Community Affairs Generation Manager Eric Kuman outlined the community projects in the four landowning areas of the Ramu NiCo project. Mr. Kuman presented specific projects in Usino Bundi and Raicoast areas including monetary figures the company has invented on specific developments in the areas and total royalties distributed to date.
Mr. Kumura acknowledged Ramu NiCo’s support to his people in Usino Bundi so far and requested the company to assist with certain major projects to give a facelift to the Usino Bundi district capital in Walium government sub-station.
Mr. Wang Zhou gave Ramu NiCo’s assurance to support Mr Kumura’s vision for his people wherever it can, to continue delivering basic services to improve the living standards of the people of Usino Bundi. (Dorothy Mark)
