July 19, 2019, the backwater system at KBK Mine was successfully completed and commissioned.
The backwater system include a backwater pond and supporting pipelines. The system is used to collect the overflow from the thickener of Beneficiation Process, the over flow will then be returned to the production system.
After completion of the backwater system, there is sufficient water supply for constant production of hydro-mining for 24 hours per day.
The backwater system on the one hand saved water and diesel consumption hence effectively cutting unit production cost; on the other hand, boosted production of hydro-mining significantly by reducing the risk of insufficient water supply for hydro-mining; most importantly, it provides even better protection for the surroundings by eliminating discharge of production water to external environment.
